Facilitative leadership

I know how its hard to get alignment, even in small teams. When everyone has different views on the same matter, working towards different outcomes, a kind, calm, but firm voice can have a big impact.

Focused on outcomes

To me, as a designer, it's a nice feeling to craft beautiful designs, but that's usually not the solution to a business-problem. So I focus on the goal and the expected outcome instead to provide real impact on business goals.

Data-based decisions

Though I have almost one and a half decade of experience in crafting various design solutions to solve business problems, I base my decisions on real data, not hunches. I only use them as inspiration to gather ideas for what to test later.

How I work?

1. Understand business goals and needs

I define and clarify objectives together with the team I work with, align on the timeline of the project, and ensure I have a clear understanding of the goals.

2. Gather knowledge

With the goals set, I venture into the wild and bring back juicy insights about what is going on in the market and in the heads of the people the company targets - or doesn't target, but should!

3. Define solutions

After I synthesized the upper two together, I bring the team together and iterate on the goals with them. Then we embark on an ideation journey to define what should we test together!

4. Test and refine

Coming up with an idea is usually easy, but knowing that it fits the needs of your customers is not, even with a research done before ideation! Therefore, during prototyping the solution, I also test it to make sure it fits the needs of the people and the market!

5. Solution design and implementation support

With the new solution tested and refined, nothing else remains just finishing up the the designs of the current scope and support the implementation. I support both, whether it is a digital product or a physical service!
